Robin "Rob" Grimmgall (real name: Robin Rios) is a primarily digital illustrator and an original fiction author who is the creator of The Mimics, Alien from Ugatog, Outcasted, and Cretaceous Love.
Personal Life[]
Grimmgall was born on July 24, 2002 in Dover, Delaware. He was known for moving houses regularly, never being able to reside in a stable household for the majority of his early childhood. Grimmgall was born to two Puerto Rican parents indicating that he is of full Puerto Rico parentage and is, therefore, fully Latino. However, he was never taught to speak in Spanish by his parents and would only learn a little bit of Spanish during his online escapades with his Latino Hispanophone friends in 2013 at the age of 11.
He was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome at the age of 9 and with Bipolar Disorder at the age of 7 after engaging in disruptive behavior at the age of 6 followed by what he describes as "sudden traumatic sibling bullying" by his oldest brother in the summer of 2008, as well as being ostracized at school by his classmates since Kindergarten, including dealing with direct bullying from 2007 to 2008 by a specific classmate. Beginning at age 9, he would receive a childhood IEP and begin schooling in a special program for disabled children where he would begin to make friends at school. He was originally ashamed of admitting to harbor Bipolar Disorder but has since become quite open about his experiences with his disorder and how it impacts him, his worldview, and his relationships with his family and society at large. His reasoning for this is to educate uninformed people about his condition, as it is a disorder that is still greatly unknown to many people and misrepresented in media, leading him to negative escapades online and in real life from people he describes as "not wishing to understand and accommodate these horrid symptoms, leading to an attack at and permanently negative reputation of the sufferer themself regardless of their progress in their treatment, symptoms, and psychiatric health in the present."
